Paola Dei

Is a science writer who studied Psychology and art which integrated the neurosciences.
She collaborates with the Gestalt University of Design (Mexico) and with the International Association for the Arts Therapies (CH-DE).
Teacher and professor in Psychology of the Arts at the schools of specialization in Psychotherapy recognized by MIUR, CSTG She also worked at the Library of the University of Siena.

President of the Art Psychology and Expressive Psychotherapy Center, Paola Dei is also the creator and coordinator of a series of ancillary film events at the Venice Film Festival.

Now in its 11th year, the series has produced annual publications spotlighting major themes and leading names in film history.

Actors have included Pupi Avati, Oriella Dorella, Massimo Ghini, Massimo Ranieri, Franca Valeri, Lina Wertmuller, Giancarlo Giannini, Giuliano Montaldo, Sergio Staino, Milena Vukotic, Paolo Virzì, Stefania Sandrelli, Enrico Lucherini, Daniela Poggi and others.

Critics have included Valerio Caprara, Gregorio Napoli, Franco Mariotti, Maurizio Porro, Sauro Borelli, Roberto Lasagna, Flavio De Bernardinis, Paolo Micalizzi, Eliana Lo Castro Napoli—who helped establish an award named after her husband Gregorio Napoli—M. Cristina Nascosi Sandri and others.

Dei developed the Psychofilm Method (©), a method tested to treat oncological diseases and Alzheimer’s, which draws on the psychology of art, in particular the work of the great film theorist Rudolf Arnheim, who lay the foundations for film therapy; mirror neuron research conducted by Professor Ruzzolatti and his team; and, occasionally, the enneagram teachings of Claudio Naranjo.

She also developed the Painters Method, which has been illustrated in publications by Armando and released as part of the MedicoPsicoPedagogica Series by Giovanni Bollea.

Dei has published numerous articles in international scientific journals.
